Offered in collaboration with the Wildlife Trust’s NY Bioscape Initiative, the course will examine themes of restoration and urban ecology. During the semester there will be a number of field trips to visit local sites that illustrate some of these themes. Class time will be spent discussing the ecology of natural spaces in human-dominated landscapes, and the theory and practice of restoration ecology, based mainly on readings from the primary literature.
