Luveen holds a Master's in Computer Science from the University of Texas at Arlington, and has worked as a software engineer for 15 years. He embarked on his conservation journey with a Sustainability Certificate from City College of San Francisco. He currently holds a board position with Voices for Asian Elephants, where he has served as Chief Technology Officer and overseen their technology efforts since 2020. He worked with African Parks in collaboration with research biologist Dr. Tammie Matson to build a database of elephant individuals in the herds at Akagera National Park, Rwanda. At Columbia's E3B department, he will be continuing his exploration in leveraging AI and machine learning for community-led conservation.
Luveen is an avid cat person, wildlife photographer, and Bollywood fan. His other interests include yoga, hiking, video games, and cooking (especially Indian, Japanese, and Thai).
