Rupinder is interested in coupled socio-ecological systems, human wildlife conflict and coexistence, and landscape ecology. She worked on diverse aspects of community engagement for conservation at WWF-India, and received a Fulbright fellowship for her master’s degree at Duke University. Her doctoral research focuses on assessing socio-ecological outcomes of different types of land use and management in forest and non-forest commons in India, using remote sensing and social surveys.
