I am an evolutionary biologist and ornithologist, motivated by a curiosity for the origin of species. My work examines how ecological, biological, and contingent factors impact the speciation process. In my dissertation, I’m using the Bananaquit—a species widespread in the Caribbean—to understand how species diversify within and between islands. I conduct both field and museum-based research, and contribute specimens to collections to ensure the material underlying my data can be revisited for future study.
