Title: Are all males choosy? Testing for variation in male mate choice in the fruit fly, Drosophila melanogaster
Description: When females vary in quality, males can increase their fitness through mate choice. However, if the benefits of choosiness differ among males, the strength of male preferences may vary within a species. Using the fruit fly, Drosophila melanogaster, our research tests for individual variation in male preferences for high-quality females, providing insight into the evolutionary pressures shaping male mating strategies.
